Sharper Image Design's new Big Screen Clock/Radio incorporates everything we've learned about what people really want at their bedside when they wake up and when they fall asleep.

The big LCD is the most distinctive feature — a full 3 1/2" diagonal screen with time in giant 1 1/8" digits. The brightly backlit, easy-to-read display also shows dual 12/24 time, date, temperature and alarm setting. Wake up to the radio, Church Bells, a Sound Soother selection or a buzzer that ramps up in six steps.

Flanking the big screen are stereo speakers that boast our state-of-the-art aluminum-cone driver technology — the sound is just fantastic...something you have to hear to believe from such small speakers.

The Sound Soother features our extraordinary selection of 20 sound environments — from the exotic "Rainforest" to the familiar "Summer Night." Using the sleep timer and versatile alarm function, you'll find it's quite pleasant to fall asleep to a relaxing soundscape that masks disturbing noises; and then wake up to something charming, like "Wind Chimes" or the songbirds of "Aviary."

The AM/FM world digital tuner, with 15 presets, is configured to receive radio broadcasts in Europe and Asia — very unusual in any radio sold in the U.S., but a great convenience when traveling. You'll also enjoy a TV-audio band for listening to, say, the Today Show or other favorite broadcasts. For private listening, plug in your own earbuds or headphones.
