for a full-sized stereo, this Teac SR-L38MP3 is slender enough to go almost
unnoticed, but powerful enough--with 9 watts per channel and a pair of 2.3-inch
full-range bass-reflex speakers--to deliver clear, pleasing sound. Listeners
have the choice of setting it on a desk, where it sits only 4.6 inches deep, or
mounting it on a wall to save even more space. The wall location adds an extra
bonus by suspending the control buttons at eye level, so you can adjust the
volume as you walk by without searching for the remote control. The device even
functions as a digital clock with handy sleep and wake timers.
The CD player incorporates all the basic functions, such as 20-track
programming, random play, and repeat play, but also plays MP3s when recorded on
a CD-R, further expanding your audio options. Should you want to listen to the
radio instead, simply switch to the drift-free, quartz PLL-synthesized AM/FM
tuner, which offers 20 station presets (10 AM and 10 FM) for immediate one-touch
tuning. The presets make it a breeze to locate your favorite program or surf for
other options during commercial breaks.
Additional features include a headphone jack for private listening and an
auxiliary input that lets you connect an iPod, MP3 player, cassette deck, or any
